MyCollegeStudio Refund & Cancellation Policy (plain-language draft)

What you're buying

MyCollegeStudio's launch product is the Season Pass 2026–27: a one-time purchase that unlocks the full product — every module, tool, and AI coaching feature — through May 31, 2027, the end of the 2026–27 application season. It is not a subscription: there is no recurring charge, nothing renews automatically, and you will never be billed again unless you choose to buy something new.

During the invite-only fall beta, access is free — beta accounts have nothing to refund or cancel, and beta access continues through the season at no charge.

Who makes the purchase

Purchases are completed by a parent or guardian (18 or older) on the student's behalf, and the purchaser's email becomes the billing contact. [Purchaser-age and parent-payer wording to be confirmed by counsel — see Terms §2.]

Refunds

If MyCollegeStudio isn't right for your family, we'll give you your money back:

Full refund within 14 days of purchase, for any reason — just ask. [placeholder window — counsel to confirm]
After 14 days, email us anyway. If something is genuinely wrong — the product isn't working for you, a mistake was made, circumstances changed — we would rather make it right than keep money that doesn't feel earned. Refunds outside the window are at our discretion and we intend to be generous.
To request a refund, email support@mycollegestudio.com from the email used at purchase (or include your receipt). No forms, no phone trees.
Refunds go back to the original payment method. Once issued, your bank or card provider typically posts them within 5–10 business days.
A refund ends the Season Pass; the student's account itself (and everything they created in it) stays available on the free tier of record, and they can export their work at any time per our Privacy Policy.

Cancellation

Because the Season Pass is a one-time purchase, there is nothing that needs canceling — no recurring billing exists. "Cancellation" for us means:

You can stop using MyCollegeStudio whenever you like; access simply runs through May 31, 2027.
You can delete the account at any time from the profile page — deletion is immediate, complete, and permanent (export first if you want your work). Deleting an account does not by itself trigger a refund outside the window above; email us and we'll talk it through.
If we ever offer a monthly plan in the future, it will be cancelable at any time from the account's billing page, effective at the end of the paid period, and this policy will be updated before that plan exists. [monthly-plan wording to be finalized with counsel at spring release]

The fine print, kept short

Prices are shown before purchase; any pricing on our site marked "planned" is not final until launch.
If we materially fail to provide the service for an extended period, you're entitled to a pro-rated or full refund — whichever is fairer to you.
Nothing in this policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer-protection law.
