The whole admissions year, in order

MyCollegeStudio is an educational companion for high-school students (and their families) applying to US colleges: a step-by-step curriculum through the whole admissions cycle, planning and tracking tools built on real, verified data, and an AI coach that helps you think — never one that does the work for you.

  1. Figure out where to apply

Search 1,400+ US colleges on live federal data, then build a list balanced across reach, target and likely.

  2. Get organised

Every application, every required item, every deadline on one calendar — with reminders before they matter.

  3. Write your essays

Brainstorm, draft and revise with version history, and get honest feedback on what you wrote.

  4. Work out the money

See what each school costs after aid, walk through the FAFSA and CSS Profile, and track scholarships.

  5. Decide

Put real offers side by side — cost, academics, fit — and make the call with the numbers in front of you.

What it looks like in use

These are real screens from the product. The student in them is an example account we built for testing — every college, essay and deadline in these pictures is sample data, not a real student's.

A guided journey, not a pile of advice

Thirteen modules of short, honest lessons — self-discovery, building a list, essays, recommendations, the FAFSA, scholarships, deciding — that pick up wherever you actually are and tell you what to do next.

An example student's journey page: a recommended module to start with, a reminder tied to an upcoming application deadline, and a module card showing nine of nine steps complete.

Every requirement and deadline in one tracker

Each application carries its own checklist of required items, its plan (Early Action, Regular Decision) and its date. Nothing lives in your head, and reminders arrive before something is late — not after.

An example student's application tracker: four colleges, each with its application plan, due date, how many required items are done, and which ones still need attention.

Essay coaching that never writes for you

Draft in the editor with automatic version history, then ask for feedback: strengths, the two or three changes worth making, prompt fit, mechanics. The coach will not rewrite your sentences — that is the point of it.

An example student's essay editor: the draft, a coaching-feedback panel that says it will never rewrite your sentences, the application requirements this essay is linked to, and a saved version history.

What a college actually costs, before you apply

Sticker price is the advertised number. The cost view shows what families in a given income range typically pay after grants and scholarships, so the money is a conversation in the autumn instead of a shock in the spring.

An example student's cost view: one college's sticker price struck through beside a much lower estimated net price for the family income range they chose, with a note that the difference is grants and scholarships, not loans.

Two people are reading this page

Applying to college is something a student does and a family lives through. This product is built for both of you — with a clear line between what belongs to whom.

If you're the student

It's your account, your process, and your work. The product is here to keep it organised and to help you think — not to do it for you.

  • Your list, deadlines, drafts, activities and offers live in one place instead of six browser tabs and a group chat.
  • The coach asks questions, gives honest feedback, and tells you when something is thin. It never writes a sentence of your essay.
  • You choose what to share, with whom, and when. Nothing leaves your account on its own.
  • Export everything or delete your account whenever you want — it's yours.

If you're a parent, guardian or family member

You get to be useful without hovering. The product explains the year that's coming so you're not guessing at what matters or what it costs.

  • See what the admissions year actually involves — the stages, the milestones, and which deadlines are the ones that bite.
  • Understand the money early: sticker price versus what families typically pay after grants, and where the aid forms fit.
  • Know where your help counts — reading a list together, keeping a deadline honest, talking through an offer.
  • When your student wants your input, they can walk you through their plan themselves.

Nobody is watching over your shoulder

Essays, conversations with the coach, and private reflections are not shared by default — not with a parent, not with anyone.

A parent or guardian sees a planning summary only if the student decides to share it with them.

Paying for MyCollegeStudio does not grant access to a student's writing. There is no quiet parent view of a student's account, and we do not build one.

The whole of it is spelled out in our privacy policy, and the help centre answers the parent and guardian questions directly.

What it costs

Free — $0

Everything in MyCollegeStudio: the full step-by-step journey, your school list and cost tools, the deadline tracker, essay coaching, activities, recommendations, aid walkthroughs, scholarships and interview practice. No credit card, no trial clock, no subscription, nothing to cancel.

Create your account during the free launch and it stays free

Every account created while our free launch is open keeps full access permanently, at no cost. We will not move your account behind a payment later. That is a commitment we are making in public, and we are not going to walk it back.

If a paid pass comes later

We may introduce a paid Season Pass for people who join after the free launch closes. If we do, we will announce the closing date, and the price, in advance — before anyone is asked to pay. We are not printing a future price today because we have not set one. Accounts created during the free launch are not affected either way.

Students are never asked to pay. If there is ever a purchase, an adult of 18 or over makes it in their own name, as a one-time payment — no subscription, nothing that renews on its own.

If that ever applies to you, our refund & cancellation policy says exactly how refunds work.

Talk to a human

Students, parents, guardians and counselors can reach us any time at support@mail.mycollegestudio.com — or start with the help center, where the answers about your account, your data and what the coach will and won't do are written out in plain language.
